WW Sandwich Buns

Can someone suggest a brand of acceptable whole wheat sandwich buns? I went grocery shopping yesterday and looked for some to have with our crockpot cheeseburgers, but didn't have luck. It doesn't help that my 2½ year old was being very patient while I read labels! I need something that you can find in a typical grocery store (versus a Whole Foods or somewhere like that). Thanks!

Hi Joy,
The only truly legal ones I've found are the Ezekiel brand.
My husband and I use Pepperidge Farm 100% whole wheat hamburger buns. They're really soft and not too big. I've seen them everywhere from the grocery store to Wal-Mart.
HTH!
Hi Katy,
Make sure that they have enough fiber.
WW buns are hard to find except maybe at a place like Whole Foods. How about using WW english muffins. These are not hard to find. Thomas' make them.
Ezekiel does make buns if you can find them in the freezer section of your grocery story. I know mine (in MA) has the bread but I have not looked for the buns. Enjoy
Linda
Just keep your eye on portion sizes. I think one ww Thomas is two servings (although I haven't had one in a really long time so I may be mistaken).

I know that this comes to late to help you with the crockpot hamburgers, but WW wraps would be a less messy option than english muffins. I have been having difficulty finding buns that are truly legal on SB. I used to use the PF 100% whole wheat burgers, but at last check I think that I realized that the number of grams of fiber per serving was not enough. The regular 100% WW burger buns have 2g fiber per serving; which, I think one bun was at least 2 servings. I used to use the 100% WW Kaiser rolls (PF), but I have since realized that even though they offer 3g fiber per serving; one PF serving is actually 2 SB servings.
I have had trouble finding legal WW wraps as well. The two that I have been purchasing are the Kraft SB wraps, which can be found at Costco, BJs, etc.; but, i have had difficulty finding them at a regular grocery store in my area. My second option is 1/2 of a Flat Out Whole Grain wrap. I know that there has been some discussion on the board about the Flat Out wraps, and it has been said that they are not the best option. (Sorry, I can't recall why.). However, I have access to the SB dietitians, and they indicated that these wraps are SB friendly.
All of that being said, I never thought to use an english muffin for my burgers -- Thanks for the idea Cathy!
Cathy, I checked the package and you're right in that they only have 2 grams of fiber. I rarely use buns for anything, so I'll probably keep buying them because my husband really likes them (he's not really on SB, but has completely changed his eating for me). But I'm going to look for those Ezekiel ones. They sound pretty good also.
