Can someone suggest a brand of acceptable whole wheat sandwich buns?  I went grocery shopping yesterday and looked for some to have with our crockpot cheeseburgers, but didn't have luck.  It doesn't help that my 2½ year old was being very patient while I read labels!  I need something that you can find in a typical grocery store (versus a Whole Foods or somewhere like that).  Thanks!

"Guess I'll need to find the Eziekels. Would they be in WalMart frozen section? If I could ask, what are they near?"

Ezekiel breads are found in the organic/health food frozen section of major grocery stores and healthfood stores.

hey cathy,

just be careful not to overbake them, i left them in for 20 mins cuz they dint look done to me(first time bread maker!). and they were definately too crusty for burgers, would be amazing with cream cheese or a crusty sandwich..

i'll try them out again and leave the yeast water and flour to bubble longer next time(i only did 30 mins..)

I am soooo glad I read your post. I am in Saskatchewan and to say the least the selections are limited in Canada but seem to be really limited here. If you have any other grocery items you can share that are legal and a staple for you I would be most appreciative :) These boards are GREAT!!

If you have any of the Loblaws/Great Canadian Superstore/No Frills/Zehrs that carry the PC products, a lot of the Blue Menu items are SBD friendly...

Chrys,

Just beware that hamburger bun is about 2 1/2 grain servings.

Unfortunately, this brand is sold in a limited area:
