I've looked around in several stores and I can't seem to find any marinara sauces that don't have added sugar in them. The only one I could find was in a gourmet-type store and it cost $8 a bottle. That's too rich for me! I haven't found any popular brands that make a no-sugar kind.

I haven't looked at Whole Foods yet, and I'm hoping they might have some there.

So what kind have you all found, and where did you get it?

I use Classico. If you live near a Meijer, some of their sauces are nsa and very good. My favorite is the Fra Diavolo.

Stop & Shop has a new line called Simply Enjoy (numerous products are in that line) and I found a really good sauce from them.

My favorite is "Ragu No Sugar Added Tomato and Basil". I also just bought a 15 oz. can of "Contadina Sauce with Italian Herbs".

Where do you find the Ragu no sugar added? I swear I looked at about a million jars of Ragu and didn't see it at all. We haven't been to Meijer in a while, so maybe we'll try there. Ragu was our favorite before SBD, and we liked Classico too. I hope I can find them :)

Laura,

Make sure that you're looking at the ingredient list for added sugar.

Thanks Cathy. I learned that here already :) So far everything I've found (except for that $8 one) does have sugar in the ingredients. Still looking.

I haven't had much trouble with this. I've found quite a good selection in my regular store that don't have sugar. Classico is on our favorites, but SOME of their varieties have sugar and some don't (I posted a list awhile back, but I can't get the search function to work anymore so I can't find it) I'd say about half of theirs are fine. I know that roasted garlic is and the fire-roasted tomato - those are both in my pantry now. Also alot of store brands don't have sugar. I like the store brands at Randall's (Safeway/Von's on the west coast) or Kroger (Ralph's on the west)

I tried to find a picture of the Ragu, but it wasn't on their website. You just have to look through the varieties carefully - there are MANY! The label says:

Ragú® Light Flavors
No Sugar Added Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce

I use the Ragu NSA as well...but I had to ask my grocery store to start carrying it.
