Hi! I haven't had much time to post lately, but I've been trying to catch up. I am on week three of Phase 1 (yep, I know what you're thinking) and I've lost 10 pounds. I AM TERRIFIED to move to Phase 2!!! I am seriously terrified of gaining weight once I start - can anybody reassure me??? I don't know what to do. Being on phase 1 really isn't bad at all, so why do I even need to add back any kind of bread/pasta, etc??





You need to add back in grains and fruits (don't forget about those!) as part of a healthy diet, and also to maintain a 'normal' way of eating for life.
You need to move on to phase 2 for a number of reasons...first staying in phase 1 deprives your body of essential nutrients. It is NOT a balanced way of eating for life - its just a quick detox. You will seriously damage your metabolism if you do not move past phase 1 - and a slow metabolism is a BAD thing when trying to lose weight. Second, even though right now you think you are fine without breads and pasta, you will be more likely to get bored and feel deprived if you limit your choices to only phase 1 foods.
Here the bottom line: I lost 8lbs in phase 1, but I lost 59 pounds in phase 2, eating 3 grains and 3 fruits per day. Does that sound so scary to lose 59 pounds?
