Is Kashi Go Lean Crunch SB friendly? I was looking at the box today and it looked OK to me, but being a newbie, I thought it was best to wait and get the verdict here!

The nutrition panel says that a serving size is 53 grams or 1.9 ounces in one cup.
Regular Kashi Go Lean is allowed.
Actually based on those numbers and the NEW fiber guidelines (that say 3-4g per serving are good, but 5+ is better) it DOES meet the rules.
13 g sugar / 53 oz serving would be equal to 7.39 g per 30 oz serving size.

This is one of those times where I would not follow the guidelines.
Go Lean Crunch is kind of sticky sweet (you can taste the sugar) and I am sure for a lot of people it would trigger cravings. I would hold off using it unitl Phase 3 personally.
My rule of thumb is that if it tastes pretty sweet and it is sweetened with sugar (not artificially sweetened), then I try to stay away from it.
I agree that Go Lean is a better choice rather than the Crunch version.

I have pretty much the same question. Regarding the new guidelines... I purchased some Kashi cereal from Sams prior to starting South Beach a couple of weeks ago.
Cinnamon Harvest/Kashi Organic Promise has 5 g of fiber and 9g of sugar. I was going to wait until my fourth week and try to introduce this cereal. Is it too high in sugar until phase 3?
I hope not... I really love it.
By the way I love South Beach Cole Slaw. Has anyone tried this recipe with broccoli, cauliflower or other vegtables?
The cinnamon harvest has
5g sugar per one ounce cereal and
2.8 g fiber per one ounce (though it might actually be 3g/ounce if they rounded down in their reporting)
so it is borderline.
