Phase 1: Are sugar-free chocolates ok?

Hi, I've been on the SBD now for 5 full weeks. I'm still on Phase 1 - but I am barely losing any weight. I'm following the SBD phase 1 food plan, and the only thing I eat that isn't "on" the plan is sugar-free chocolates. I couldn't find anything in the book about sugar-free chocolates specifically - it only says to limit "Sweet treats" to 75 calories a day because the sugar alcohols can upset your stomach... Does anyone have anymore insite here? Could this be sabotaging my diet? I did have a baby 12 weeks ago and I'm going to the doctor because I may have postpartum thyroidism which could be affecting my weightloss - but if that isn't it, then I must be doing something wrong. Weight loss was as follows: Week 1 - 4 lbs. Week 2 - 0 lbs. Week 3 - 2.5 lbs. Week 4 - 1 lbs. and Week 5 - 0.5 lbs.

Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated! Thanks!

The sugar free chocolate would just count towards you sweet treat calories for the day, which has been changed since the book came out, to 100 calories. You've had a great weight loss so far, but it's time to move on to phase two which is the real weight loss phase. Phase one is great to get rid of cravings, but it's important that you add in whole grains and fruits to make a balanced diet. If you'd like, you can post a sample menu of what you eat to give us a better idea if anything could be hindering your weightloss.

Also, I'm not sure if you are breast feeding, but if you are, then you should be in a full phase two anyways.

Hope this helps!

I agree, you should move into P2. Please see my response to your other post for Jenniemadsen.
