I think I found a nearly legal bread!

I spend so much time in the bread aisle looking at labels and never finding anything that meets the guidelines. In fact, yesterday the guy restocking the bread aisle asked me twice if I needed help! Unfortunately, I didn't care for the Ezekiel breads when I tried them.

I think I might have found something very close to legal, and if so I'm really excited about it! Someone may have already posted about this, but I wanted to share :)

Arnold Natural 100% Whole Wheat Bread
One slice is 33 g; 3g fiber per slice
Ingredients: Stoneground whole wheat flour, whole wheat flour, water, brown sugar, honey, wheat gluten. Contains 2% or less of the following: soybean oil, inulin, molasses, calcium sulfate, yeast, salt, raisin juice, wheat germ, sugarcane fiber, cultured wheat starch, soy lecithin, resistant tapioca starch, vinegar, vitamin D, folic acid.

There is some weird stuff in there (resistant tapioca starch??!) but at least I don't need a chemistry degree to understand it. And, no trans fats or HFCS. What do you think? Is it legal (if we assume the rounding would work in our favor to give us 3g fiber per serving)?

Thanks!

That sounds awesome to me! What does the package look like? I have a hard time liking any of the breads that I can find in the store! I am sort of picky I guess. I LOVE to make my own, but that is the problem....I like it too much :) I have always had problems keeping my serving of carbs to 3 a day and with that great bread machine recipe of yours, I am doomed to keep it to that number :)

I will have to check our store to see if I can find any. :)

Yes....we have a winner. This bread is fine. I've used it, too.

I believe this is the stuff I just found yesterday, too! "from the makers of brownberry" or something?

I was excited to check the stats and see the closest thing to legal yet!

But I don't eat bread, its for the kiddies.

I LOVE the Arnold bread!! We buy the Flax and Fiber variety. It has 4g. fiber per 33g slice! My DH is still getting used to the texture, but he's noticed one sandwhich fills him up now,
