Baked oatmeal question

I made this recipe for the first time today. Since it has a cup of milk in it, does that count as a dairy serving?

Also, since its 3 cups of oatmeal and 1/2 cup is a grain serving, does that mean to cut it into 6ths for a serving?

Yes, since the recipe calls for 3 cups of oatmeal, you should cut it into 6 servings. Each serving would be equal to one grain serving. The same thinking applies to the milk. The recipe calls for one cup - divided by 6 is very little milk per serving - I would not count it as a dairy serving. Have a glass of milk with it!

How dumb of me. I didn't even consider the fact that I'd be dividing it up when it came to the milk. Thanks!

You're welcome! Some things are a little more complicated than they need to be!

Enjoy your oatmeal!

I made this for breakfast this morning and it was really good! I put a little smart balance and sf syrup on top and it was great! I served it with a mango, raspberry, and banana smoothie. I thought I would have a hard time not going back for seconds, but it's so filling! I ate it about an hour and a half ago and I'm still full!

A grain serving of oatmeal is equal to 1/2 cup.
