No more weight loss?

I lost 10 lbs in Phase 1, I just finished my second week on Phase 2 and I haven't lost any in these 2 weeks of Phase 2!! The only thing I know I'm not doing is I don't always get my 4 1/2 cups of veggies a day, but does that really make that much of a difference??? I can't believe I haven't lost any more weight, I'm very discouraged.

Don't be discouraged - it's very normal! One of the most common mistakes people make is to cut back on food when they reach phase 2. Although it's fine to skip snacks if you're not hungry, you MUST get 4.5 cups of veggies, all the fruits and grains you need for the week of phase 2 you are on, 2-3 cups of dairy, plenty of proteins and lots of water.

Here is a Q&A from the Starting Phase 2 thread that may shed some light:

Okay, I'll stick with it, thank you. Hopefully I'll see some weight loss after this week.

I know it seems like it goes against everything you know, but you have to keep eating to lose weight!! How about posting in the iJournals folder below?

You can do this!!

I didn't lose any weight my first 2 weeks of phase 2 either. In fact the first week of phase 2 I GAINED 2lbs. Then the next week I lost that 2, but that meant I was still right back to where I was at the end of phase 1.

Now - just think, what if I had quit? That was almost 2.5 years ago. Since then I have lost 67lbs, 7 sizes and maintained that lost for 1.5 years. I had quit after that initial let down in phase 2 - I would NOT be sitting her in my size 2 shorts and sexy Victoria's secret tank top. I would still be in my size 18 jeans and a baggy t-shirt.

So basically, just think of where you COULD be if you stick with it. Then think about where you will be if you DON'T.

You can do it... just hang on. I agree that posting a journal every day has really helped me. Also, sure you didn't lose anything, but you didn't gain either. I know that sounds lame sometimes, but it's true!

Good luck!

Oh...how I hear you!!!!
I have just ended my first week in Phase 2 - and gained 2 lbs. UGH!!! And I have been working out like the dickens. So I really enjoyed reading the the two replies from your comment that have now helped me immensley....1) it sounds like its a normal process going from Phase 1 to Phase 2 - and 2) Stick with it!! the scale will eventually keep on moving down. I'm sure that you were happy to hear those comments from experienced and succesful South Beachers - I know I was!
