First week of Phase 2 - up 2lbs...ugh

I know...I know..I have read it before here on our SB board, that the first week of Phase 2 can bring no weight loss, or even a weight gain. I would have been far more pleased with a 'no-loss'! I gained 2 solid pounds... Man, it sucks! Today I just feel so let down, I honestly thought I'd see two or three pounds gone from the scale. I'm sitting here in my work out clothes, feeling too discouraged to get my workout in. Procrastinating a fundamental necessity for my weight loss success, questioning..is it worth all of this when I have nothing to show for it? (Gee, I didn't think I was such a good whiner...:)
However I am trying to give my head a shake; having heard all of your experienced wisdom from previous message boards, I need to stick with this and the numbers will eventually go down again - right??? Right??? Can anyone give me an idea/average - week number three or four- before I see the weight coming down again?
Thanks

I'm sorry you're frustrated. Everyone is different so it's hard to tell you how long it will take for you to see the scale moving again. There are some things you can pay close attention to that will help:
Stick with us...we'll get you thru it and you'll be so proud of yourself!
Thanks Karen,
I thought, if I am going to whine and feel sorry for myself, I best be doing it while I exercised! So, I'm happy to say that I finally DID get my runners on and completed my 50 minute power walk chanting the mantra, 'push past the plateau, push past the plateau'
You're right, we are all different physically and biologically. It's really not fair of me to ask , "When will I begin losing weight?". The tips you shared with me are appreciated, thanks again.

Christina,
You're welcome! Good for your for getting out there today! Be persistent and it will pay off. Take a look at some of the success stories for motivation.
Ugh I sure hope too that it keeps going down!! i feel stuck right now too - again, like you said it's all normal...I saw a 4.5 lb loss with my first week pf phase 2 but nothing since... that was 6 weeks ago. MOVE SCALES!! I want the scales to MOVE lower for all of us!!!
Keep us updated and we're always here for moral support or just to &^%$% with you!
Thanks Jennie,
I am so grateful that there is such great support here for us on our journey 'down'!
My Best Friend said that I look like I've lost weight. (I haven't told ANYONE that i'm doing SB, not even my dear husband - ha!!) Those were great words to hear! I haven't been on the scale for weeks now. I am trying to focus on dress size. I have a battle with the scale - all emotional. When it is up - I'm angry and frustrated. If it's up - I'm happy! So, now I've increased my work outs (now five times a weeks which is just so crazy coming from me - the most I ever did in the past was three times a week). But it feels great and I've made myself that commitment. I can feel that my clothes are fitting better, but I am still the same dress size .And whenever I am feeling like I am sliding down a slippery slope (eating wise) I go to a tight phase 2 plan with one fruit and one grain. Then come the next day I feel 'strong' about my progress and continue on my regular Phase 2 . My biggest challenges are the weekends, but I think I am learning to handle them better!
Next week I am going to go on the scale. I will tell you how I am doing then. I am nervous, silly but true!! I just pray the scale is down. I guess I really need to see the number lower (emotionally) which is why I am so nervous about it! I hope you will see the scale budge too very soon! Keep up the good SB work - you are worth it!!!
Yes - they will eventually go down. If you stick with it, they will. I can't tell you when, but they will. If you don't stick with it - I can GUARANTEE you they won't. So which is the better bet?
I also gained 2lbs my first week of phase 2. If I had quit over that I would still be sitting here as a size 18, not a size 2. In my second week of phase 2 I lost those 2lbs that I had gained - so I was "even" with my ending of phase 1 weight. Then the next week I believe I lost 2lbs. After that it was lose 1-2lbs per week, then nothing for 1 or 2 weeks, then 1-2lbs, then nothing. So you just have to be prepared - this will NOT be the first week that you don't see a loss. That is normal and to be expected.
