Dr Pepper, buritoes, choc chip cookies
| Wed, 06-20-2007 - 9:36pm |
That was lunch.
Two dr peppers, 2 bean buritoes (trash food) and 3 choc chip cookies.
I am seriously failing this week and last. Ugh. I say ugh but as I eat the food I don't really care. This plateau has just killed my drive. Blech.
I did work out today but I ran out of food, was here with the kids, ate whatever they ate... we're shopping tomorrow.

Thanks Katy!! I love how you guys just keep giving the good positive reinforment even though sometimes I totally tank the diet!!
The only thing my DH can't live without really is the caffeine and so we've always had separate drinks b/c even when I did "real" coke it was still caffeine free (migraines) and so not being able to resist HIS drinks was an oddling event too. THe whole last several days have been strange craving driven days. I AM chalking it up to AF.
I couldn't bring myself not to get the kid's goldiish at the store today... but I think with the thousand other things I bought (everything!!) that I can eat, I won't be tempted to eat them. I do love them though - biting off their tiny little heads... lol
Really, with the state I was in (sounds dramatic huh?) the last couple days it wouldn't have mattered what was here - I was seeking out things I "shouldn't" have.... and when I ran out - I sent my DH out for more.
Weak I know... but there it is.... hahah
BTW that's biting off their littles heads... of the GOLDFISH not the kids!! ;-)
Talking about biting off more than you can chew.... ahahahahah some grotesque food humor there
Ok, I calculated it:
I've been on South Beach for 10 weeks. 2 weeks in phase 1 and this is starting week 9 in Phase 2.
I have lost w/ south beach alone 17 lbs, so that DOES average more than 1 lb a week and I've lost a total of 31 lbs in the last 22 weeks.
Coming up on the 6 month mark is a big deal for me b/c I don't know that I've stuck with many "plans" or "routines" that long - nothing this important anyway.
Ouch...I know the feeling of being on a very slippery slope! In the past, I have felt like I was sabotaging my own success, digging my self deeper and deeper into bad habits.
But hang in there Jennie! You have done so well - you really have. You are an inspiration to many of us out 'here' in South Beach Land! None of us expects perfection from you or other members. We ALL slip up now and then, here and there.
We all want you to reach your goals, and we all wish you success, you are worth it! Perhaps you can make a commitment to yourself. Perhaps you can give yourself 24 hours, and within those 24 hours give it your best. Maybe even break it down to morning, afternoon, evening - if that makes it more manageable? It's amazing how one teenie tiny success can build, and like a domino effect - you may find yourself looking back on your day and feeling great about it. Push past the mistakes, or bad choices, or whatever you want to call them. That's in the past, there is nothing any of us can change with the past.
We all wish you well, we are here for your challenges and your successes.
A fellow South Beach Buddy,
Christina
Also I don't own a scale - I can't - I become obsessive... like weighing in 3 times a day and worrying.
I weigh in either at Abi's OT appts on Fridays at 9:30am (they have a doc's scale in the bathroom) or at Walmart hahahah there are several types of scales to choose from - I stick with the same one each time.
Ah! Glad to be of service!!!
It's very liberating to just post everything and anything!! It's THE SINGLE MOST helpful thing I do with this diet - for me and for others. There is nothing worse for me than to think everyone else is doing it so perfectly and I am (secretly) failing!!! So, I post it all out there for everyone to see!!
It also make sharing successes that much sweeter!!
Instead of thinking in terms of a "plateau" could you maybe let go of the weight loss quotient and think more about the health factor? I guarentee you that either way, the weight will come off. I think it would be easier for you to stick to your WOE if the pressure is taken off of the whole thing. Sodas and burritos aren't good for anybody, fat or skinny. And I 100% agree with the others, quit buying it! Your husband doesn't need it, and neither do your kids. If you remove the temptation, you won't be tempted.
Good luck! And focus on what's really important......
