Seriously....WHY???

Am I not losing any more weight????? I lost 10 lbs on Phase 1, and I'm going on my 4th week of Phase 2, and the scale has NOT budged!! I started a journal this week in ijournals...what am I doing wrong????? I look at other peoples journals that look similar to what I'm doing!!! I'm about to give this up, I don't like not seeing any more weight loss after all these weeks.
Mandy

I've been stuck for 7 weeks at 219 after losing 12.5 lbs in phase one and 10-12 lbs doing diet and exersice in the 10 weeks before that.
I am also feeling very discouraged, starting to cheat ALOT and just in general not caring. I have not really weighed in in the last 2 weeks (except at WM lol where one scale said 220 and two scales said 215) and I don't plan on weighing in anytime soon - not while I"m feeling like this b/c a move in the wrong direction would be disaster...
I don't know what really to do either to help my moral!!!
Hi Mandy,
I know you must be frustrated, believe me, I've been there. I looked at your food journal and it looks inconsistent on your fruit intake. You should have 3 full servings of fruit per day by this point. And I'm not sure if you're being strict on your grain measurements. For example, you had a wrap for lunch one day -- depending on its weight, it may have counted as 2 grains.
You should also be having 3 full grains per day as well. It sounds counter-intuitive after having not had grains and fruit during Phase 1 and losing weight so easily, but your body needs them as fuel to keep its metabolism fired up and burning calories around the clock, and it also needs to fiber to move the fats out of your body.
Try posting your food measurements (i.e. 1/2 cup of ww spaghetti instead of just writing ww spaghetti) and making sure you're eating all the food you should and that should get the scale moving again.
Also, what type of exercise are you doing? Kicking it up a notch can also break through a plateau.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please don't give up -- this is a healthy and realistically slow (i.e. longer lasting) way to lose weight.
Also, a lot of that initial weight is water weight. When you introduce more carbs, you do put some of that water weight back on HOWEVER you start losing fat. So your weight stays the same but your overall body fat goes down.
You are fine - you should start seeing results on the scale in no time!!
Lisa.
Have you taken your measurements at all? Even on the first few weeks of Phase 1 when I only lost a little weight, I was losing more inches. So I wonder if you are losing fat and not realizing it?
No, unfortunately, I didn't take measurements, I guess I should have. Although, I still want to see that scale go DOWN!!!
Mandy
TAKE THOSE MEASUREMENTS!
here's a bit of math..
My highest weight - 135 pounds, 35% body fat
135 x .35 = 47.25 pounds of fat
Current weight - 125 pounds, 22% body fat
125 x .22 = 27.5 pounds of fat
Now, if I was fixated with a number on the scale, ("I MUST GET TO 115!!!!!!) I'd be disappointed and frustrated.
Look at the numbers - 20 pounds of fat lost, only 10 pounds lost on the scale.
Please, get your body fat tested and go by that, not scale weight.
