I love the Lean Cuisine Chicken in Peanut Sauce. I did eat one last week because I didn't have time to cook. Before I eat another, I want to know if it is legal. If it is, then can you guys help with how to count towards nut servings, starch servings, etc?
Oh...I don't like water chestnuts so I always remove those.

What do you think?

Hi,

Here's the official word from the South Beach nutritionist:

Yes, the Lean Cuisine 'Spa Cuisine' meals containing 100% whole grain starches (pasta or rice) are good choices for occasional use in Phase 2. Count one starch serving from your meal plan. I would suggest adding more veggies and, if you wish, one of your low-fat dairy servings. This would make a complete meal.

When you don't have time to prepare a home-cooked meal, convenience foods are fine for occasional use.

Thanks Cathy!

I will assume the "occasional use" means about once a week right?

I am still wondering about the nut serving. I tend to overdo it on nuts sometimes. Do you think the peanuts in this sauce is neglible or should I cout it as nut serving?

Yummmm - this is one of my FAVORITES, I always keep on in the freezer for an emergency lunch! I personally think the whole grain Lean Cuisines taste so much better than the Kraft/SBD meals.

I kind of figured I would have to count it as a full nut serving. However, I was secretly hoping you would say only 1/2 serving...I LOVE my PB!!! :)
