Oops-Lean Cuisine pizza question

Hi. I am in Phase 2-day 2.
I just had a Lean Cuisine pizza. Will this immediately cause me to gain weight? Or is the main problem that it could cause cravings for more carbs/starch?
What is this doing to my body?

Thanks in advance.

As long as this pizza meets the guidelines, it would be allowed as a starch serving in phase 2.

Thank you for your response. It did not have either of those 2 ingredients, but the main ingredient was enriched flour as the crust. Isn't that a huge no-no?

thanks

No - it won't immediately cause you to gain weight. Even though we don't count calories on South Beach - that is still essential what makes us gain/lose weight. It takes 3500 EXTRA calories to gain 1 "real" pound. Those Lean Cuisine pizzas only have about 350-400 calories I believe. So I wouldn't really worry about actual weight gain from that.

Now - the Lean Cuisine pizza are not whole grain, so therefore not a good choice for South Beach. It can have two effects = 1) the extra refined may cause a bit of fluid retention (so IF you saw an extra pound on the scale its from fluid, not real weight gain) and 2) yes, since its not whole grain it may cause some cravings/swings in blood sugar.

Thank you firebird_mom for your response and insight. And I must I am so impressed with your weight loss story. You are absolutely adorable (before and after!) and I am so inspired.
I would like to lose 20 pounds, but I wonder if I stay on Phase 2 if I will continue to lose!? I hope so!

Thanks again.

You will definitely lose on Phase 2. It is called "The Weight Loss Phase" for a reason. Phase 1 is only a detox period. Phase 2 is where all the real magic happens. I only did phase 1 for exactly 2 weeks. I did lose 8lbs, but I went on to lose 59lbs in the 10.5 months I was on phase 2. Actually, the last couple months of that I was really on phase 3 - I had reached my original goal weight in August, and started doing basically phase 3 (being more liberal with my servings of grains/fruits, not counting/measuring anymore, etc.) and I STILL went on to continue to lose another 17lbs beyond my original goal, even eating phase 3 style!

I don't rely on frozen foods that much but there are some things I keep for emergencies:

Alexia or Ian's frozen sweet potato fries
Amy's black bean burritos
Morningstar Farm chicken/soy grillers (not breaded)
Morningstar Farm sausage/soy patties

I have tried one or two of the South Beach frozen entres and I have thrown them away.
