I have been so hungry for the past two days!! Today I have been eating and eating and eating.... lol

Stuck with everything on my diet but have FOR sure gotten at least 3 grains, 3 fruits and TONS of vegetables.

Today b/w 8:30am and 11:00pm (I just ate again lol)

4 scrambled eggs w/ mushrooms and mozz cheese and salsa
1 banana w/ PB and several strawberries
1 pudding cup
4 slices of mini eggplant pizettes w/ mozz cheese, tomato sauce, canadian bacon and mushrooms
1 SB snack bar Wild Berry something or other
1 medium taco salad (lettuce, ground beef, some salsa, cheese)
2 servings leftover Mexican Penne
3 scrambled eggs w/ mushrooms and mozz cheese and salsa...

Oh lol I just started over with breakfast again huh??? And looking at that I am not sure I did get 3 full grain servings in there....

I think you did get your grains in with the 2 servings of penne and the SB bar.

I just wanted to note that you might be careful with the number of eggs you are consuming. You had 7 yesterday which may be a lot if you have cholesterol issues (I don't know if you do or not).

Maybe you want to try starting your day with oatmeal or high fiber cereal and some protein like a veggie patty. It might keep you fuller longer to have the grain and protein first thing. Plus you will get in a bit more fiber which is always good for you!

You should also keep in mind that even though SB does not count calories you still will gain weight if you consume too much of even a good thing. Portion control is important. Learn to understand what is true hunger and what might be thirst or boredom etc. I know that when I am engaged in a project I can "forget" to eat. If I am sitting and watching TV (which I do a lot - LOL!) I am sitting there thinking of what will be the next thing I eat.

Good luck!

A normal day wouldn't have included the Penne or the eggs. I don't have a cholesterol problem (and I do know that for sure b/c I have to test my insuline reistance every so often and that includes checking cholesterol levels - which were low/fine the last 4 times thank you South Beach!!), and so usually the 4 med eggs in the morning is a good deal. I think I need to start marking on the calender what day(s) I have the incredible hunger - and it is hunger. We were pretty busy yesterday with playdates, shopping, and church in the evening, so it wasn't idle TV eating (which I've been known to do as well!! lol) I wonder if the craving food days may have something to do with hormone cycles but with no AF (IUD) I'd have to start paying more attention to find out!

Jennie, it could certainly be hormonal. I have one or two days in my cycle every month(today!) when I am ravenous all day, and it's the same as with you --- not boredom eating for sure. I just try to load up on good choices and do the best I can, which is what it looks like you did. :)

The weather here has also been pretty wild and I do feel certain changes in me with big changes in the weather.

What I really wanted to eat yesterday was a extra long chili cheese coney and large tot w/ cheese from Sonic... oh and maybe a route 44 blue ocean water!!!

My girlfriend sent me an article the she found in the magazine MORE that talked about appetite during your cycle. The second half of your cycle is the worst time for cravings/hunger since your body is pumping out progesterone getting ready for the "baby." They say the best thing to do is to start a "diet" on the first day of your cycle, get your eating habits/cravings in line for those two weeks and then you should be able to handle the seconde half better.

Hadn't really thought about it before, but it does make sense.

Jennie! No chili cheese coney dog -- remember, you're only 3 months from your cruise! Though, I'm with ya -- that does sound good! Once we get to our goals and maintain for a bit, we can work the ingredients in as a maintence meal -- we'll all do it together!

In the meantime one thing that I have found over the last couple of weeks is helping me, is having Steel Cut Oats for breakfast. Depending on what I plan for the day, I either have 1/2 cup or 1 full cup (2 grain servings for the cup) and a yogurt. For some reason this really holds in my tummy and keeps me feeling full through the morning. By lunch time I'm ready for lunch, but not "famished".

Keep up your good work -- I enjoy reading your posts -- you have incredible energy and sound like you're having fun doing just about everything!

I can't eat a chili dog actually even on a good day... lol, too greasy for my tummy - but it sure SOUNDS good..

And on the calorie front - I know... I cut too far back on calories/fat and ended up with a migraine.... but I know that yesterday was a HIGH calorie day.... hoping it evens out, I learn new stuff every week about what is working best for me ad what is not and I am in it for the loooooong term so these mishaps and set backs are but a mere blip on the scale... lol but - I did not have hunger today like I did yesterday - ate normal:

1/2 cup grape nuts w/ 1 cup skim milk and strawberries for breakfast (I don't even know if grapenuts are on the diet but I didn't eat that much anyway and was SICK of eggs, lol)

2 cups Mexican Penne for lunch

1 very small bite sugar cookie dough
1/3 avocado

1 top (just a little bit over the size of my palm) sirloin steak and tons of grilled red peppers, orange peppers, yellow peppers and zucchini

Yummy food day! I also made the crockpot lasagna for tomorrow!!

1 CFDDP
1 CFDPepsi
3 bottles water

pssst, you can have a chili cheese dog on occasion that's SB friendly. Get a FF hotdog, use SB-approved chili (you're own batch would be best), sprinkle with rf shredded cheese and pop it in a ww piece of bread or a ww hotdog bun if you can find a legal one. Voila -- urge satisfied without breaking the bank! :-)
