Fiber One Bran cereal???????

This Fiber One cereal I have and LOVE (since eating it at my granny's house) has corn bran as the first ingredient...

Here is the label stats:

serving size 1/2 CUP (30 g) SO THAT'S only ONE Grain serving right?!?!

Calories: 60
Fat: 1 g
Sodium: 105 mg (IS THAT LOW???)
Dietary Fiber: 14g
Sugar: 0
Protein: 2g

If I am doing this right, remembering correctly... we wouldn't normally eat something with corn bran as the first ingredient BUT this has so much fiber that it is ok???

Eventually, I do get the hang of things... lol

And sometimes I don't get to reply much (and other times in spurts) but I try and read everything!

I haven't had an egg since you guys told me about the AHS guidelines, lol. I figure with this cereal I can kill two birds with one stone - save my eggs for hungrier days and get my milk in!

Jennie - I just wanted to point out something about the eggs...

I know a lot of people here are leary because of the 7 per week guideline and the high calories. #1 - you know I put NO stock whatsoever in calories - just my personal opinion, but its served me very, very, well. But also - Dr. A pointed out NUMEROUS times a big flaw in that guideline. The did NOT study more than 7 eggs. They stopped there. They studied up to 7 - said "okay, its fine" But there has not been a study on eating 8. So how do we know its bad? No study on eating 9. Etc. So its a very flawed guideline - just as many, many guidelines that come from these "studies" are. Have you seen the whole "regular soda is no worse for you than diet soda" thing that came out? Bull -----. Dr. A is a cardiologist and has put NO egg limit on the South Beach diet, except if you have cholesterol issues - even then he just says check with your doctor.

Don't get me wrong - I love to see people getting more of a variety. And I really could care less about eggs as I can't stand them and never eat them. But I don't want you to feel "afraid" of a very healthy food that you like or feel you have to deprive yourself of it. That is only counterproductive to making this a lifestyle change.

I don't want to get into a debate about it, but just want to clarify the Heart Associations recommendation.

The mosquito festival is pretty much in my back yard... our yard is unfenced so it's all roped off so that people don't park in our yard during the festival, lol.

I think we're going - it's REALLY a rip off how much $$ everything is and the petting zoo people were so rude last year... we usually go when the babysitters are dancing and doing gymnastics... we don't pay for the nighttime entertainment... we just sit on the back porch!!!

Yep. I got eaten up in the car this morning on the way to Kids Kollege!!!

There is a blow up mosquito that is in the park during the festival.. and a BBQ cook off... gotta tell you though it's starting to look a bit white trashish over there with the piles of cedar in case they tear up the park like they did last year, the crappy fencing to block the road and the construction orange wire mesh fence they've got running along the park... just... ugh. lol

Yeah - its probably not much fun when you have to "live" with it!

Dh and I are festival nuts - we got to every festival/fair we can find...so we were thinking about heading down there (its about a 1.5 hr drive for us) But we also had an invite to go to Schlitterbaun (sp?) with some friends this weekend - so that will probably win out. Of course weather permitting, we may not do anything!
