How important are those grains?

Okay, I know this is probably a dumb question, but I am having a hard time remembering my whole grains every day. I think I enjoyed Phase 1 so much that I just seem to be eating that way mostly, and then towards the end of the day, I realize I haven't had any whole grains yet.

For example, here is what I had today to eat:

Breakfast: 1 hard boiled egg, a plum and a string cheese

Snack: 2 T. peanut butter

lunch: tomatoes and mozarella cheese

snack: laughing cow cheese with celery sticks

dinner: zucchini, squash, red bell pepper and onions cooked with olive oil and seasonings

dessert: chocolate SF pudding

Thanks for your input. Actually, I had the plum for breakfast and then I forgot to list it, but I had a banana for dinner.

Is 2T. of peanut butter 2 servings? I thought it was one serving size. Oops.

I've had the triscuits and cheese, and I agree, sooo good. I've also done the wasa bread and I like that too. But, I'm just having a hard time always remembering them every day, twice a day. I'm only in week 2 of phase 2, so I'm just at that stage of working them in. Does oatmeal have to be the steel cut oatmeal, or can I have regular whole oats? I like the steel cut, but I don't always have 30 minutes to let it cook.

Thanks again. I know they are important, but I just struggle always getting them in.

Hi Ramona,

Just wanted to emphasize that it is really important to include your grains and fruit.
