Come on, fess up you know you want to!!

I made some cookies at my sister's house - and they had choc chips and peanut M&M's in them and I don't do chocolate, so I knew I was safe from the baked cookies... but the dough - oh man - 2 cups of Crisco.... ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh. I had about 4 finger fulls of it and wow was it amazingly good.

Then, two days later, dang it, Deklan force fed me a bite of the cookie and it was just as good as the dough. Thankfully, that was the last bite of cookie in the house b/c I'd sent them all to work with Sean!!!

Cookies are a bit of weakness for me. I've probably only given in about 3 times in the last 2.5 years (and its only been one cookie each time) But they are the only thing that actually TEMPS me when it comes to sweets. We have PTA functions, volunteer workdays at school, potluck parties at the pool, etc. with all sorts of non-SBD friendly food. None if it even looks good to me, but if there is a plate of cookies, I get that "twinge" in my stomach. I just make some SBD friendly ones when I get home and that makes it all better!

Here I am with my hand raised... we just got back from Target where the kids became grumpy and hungry so I got them kids meals there (hotdog on wheat bun, applesauce, juice box & fruit snacks) but they had run out of fruit snacks so the clerk substituted chocolate chip cookies. Well DS age 6 thought they were great but DS age 3 only had 2 bites and then decided he *really* needed to go look at the Thomas toys so I, never wanting to let perfectly good food "go to waste" (thanks, Mom!!), popped it in my mouth before even really thinking about it. Bad habit, "eating up" (instead of picking up) after your kids. I definitely do it too much...

I'll fess up in advance, actually, since the kids and I will be making cookies in just a bit. DD has been begging to make "real" macaroni and cheese that she found in her kids cookbook, so DH will do that with her tonite, and now DS wants to make some chocolate chip cookies, too...

Oh, and while I'm at it I might as well admit to eating that brownie bite sample at Sam's Club this morning...

I have two small children and I know that they still want to have snacks and cookies are one of their favorites. I love cookies. My way around it was to get fig newtons and animal crackers. I really hate those. I'm not tempted at all. If I had Oreos or chocolate chip cookies in the house I'd be a goner.

Part of my problem is Deklan's sweet little face and voice saying, Mama, you need cookie?" and wanting to shove them down my throat - eh, what's a whole grain goldfish or two... lol

Once I got into phase 2 I ate a couple packs of the SBD cookies and that seemed to satisfy me. I haven't given in to make or buy cookies that are not SBD friendly. Now, when I am at the mall and I pass by the Cookie Factory, ooohhh.....that smell! I just keep right on walking. I especially love choc. chip cookies and I know just one might not do it!

I had a pack of SB chocolate chip cookies yesterday. They were okay...they just taste stale to me. I have basically stopped buying cookies for the kids because it's just too tempting for me.

DYK....I have never, ever in my whole life made anything with Crisco???? I wouldn't even know where to begin!

"DYK....I have never, ever in my whole life made anything with Crisco????"

Be glad - even before South Beach using that stuff in recipes made me ill so I generally tried to swap it out for butter whenever possible. When I was a kid my mom always used to grease her cake pans with it and I would literally gag when I had to help her!
