I'm so excited!

I just wanted to post because I'm so excited. (You're all going to laugh because this is sort of sad.) I made lasagna. No, I made a LOT of lasagna. Four bags of egg noodles worth to be exact. I've never really had a whole wheat pasta that I liked before. I'd only tried it once and I don't think it was cooked enough. It was chewy and it stuck to my teeth. I have a huge roaster and I like to cook in bulk so I can freeze things in family size servings for dinners later and single servings for lunches for me and for my husband to pack. Well, I made the lasagna and it was wonderful! Everyone loved it. My 2 year old kept telling me that it's our favorite. Both of my kids ate 2 large servings. I've been worried all day that I was going to make it and find out that we all hated it. Then I'd be stuck with 2 tons of lasagna we'd have to choke down. I'm just proud that I went into it with an open mind instead of thinking that I'd probably hate it. I guess this would be another NSV. I'm really learning to be open minded about new foods and eating healthy as a way of life not as a diet that I have to tolerate. I still can't say that I like WW bread better than white but I'm learning. I'm getting there. And I'm proud.

Trying new things and mixing it up is what's going to keep you going. I'm glad you liked the lasagna...it's one of our favorites.

I'll have to give the muffins a try! They sound good. And no, I still won't eat the brussel sprouts or asparagus when I come over. I'm not quite there yet. :) Maybe someday. (Probably not.) And we're having taco meatballs tonight too! I can't wait to try them. They sound good!

Grrr. I think product labels are completely misleading. How can they say whole wheat!?!?! Well, I'm gonna have to eat it. I'm not throwing out that much lasagna. Good thing my kids and husband like it. I can limit my servings this time and find another brand next time. Do you have any recommendations? What do you like?

Labels can be horribly frustrating! Grrrrrr.

I think I need to print out a bunch of stuff to put into my purse for grocery shopping.

Hang in there- I have a feeling it gets easier as you learn.

I'm sure it will get easier. I guess we can only learn from our mistakes. I find myself looking for things that people suggest on this board. At least we can turn her with our questions. If not for this message board, I'd continue eating those noodles thinking it was okay. Thanks for the encouragement!
