Question about V8

There are days when I just can't squeeze in 4.5 cups of veggies so I'd like to have the option of using the Low Sodium version of V8. The normal serving size is 8 oz., would that count as 1 cup of the 4.5 veggie requirement? What is the limit on V8 per day as I noticed it does have sugar in it. Thanks in advance!

V8 is a GREAT way to get an extra veggie serving. I drink a glass almost every day. There's actually no "added" sugars in V8. The sugar content you see listed on the nutrition label is the natural sugars of the tomatoes - perfectly legal in any phase!

Enjoy!

Here's an explanation of the v8 serving size from the South Beach nutritionist:

We recommend limiting tomato or vegetable juice to no more than 2 cups a day, as the whole vegetable is always the best choice. Two cups of V-8 juice (16 ounces) would replace 2 cups of veggies from our recommended minimum of 4.5 cups of veggies every day.
