Fruit & increased appetite?

Hi, I have been lurking here a while, but don't post often. This is my second week of phase 2, and I added a grain last week, and added a fruit this week. Last week was fine, but this week, I have had a small granny smith apple with a cheese stick for my morning snack and it seems like I am full but I can't stop eating.

Not craving sweets, really, and I try to be good by eating salad greens topped with a tablespoon of fat free cottage cheese, or stuff like that but really I would like to feel satisfied when I am finished eating.

Has anyone had problems like this when they added fruit back into their diet?

Hi and welcome!! It's three grain servings PLUS two - three fruit servings. If you have trouble getting them all in, you can just eat one serving of grain plus one serving of fruit with each meal, but I enjoy having fruit with cheese for a snack.

This sounds like a lot, but a grain serving is pretty small --- 1/2 c ww pasta or one small slice of ww bread, for example. It's easy to eat two grain servings with a meal.

Yes, you are right. As Deb said, your goal is to reach a full phase 2 with 3 grain servings and 2-3 fruit servings per day. There are two ways to start phase 2. The information I posted for you was to confirm what it sounds like you are doing - the most cautious method. You are on the right track - keep up what you are doing until you reach a full phase 2 and then you keep eating that way until you have reached your goal.

Did you check out the Phase 2 Meal Planning Guide? It's in the Starting Phase 2 thread in the Phase 2 folder. It should help you!
