DYK we've done an Angel Tree kid since we moved in together? (I was a sophomore in college.) We just added one that is always a baby after we lost ours. Our other one is always a teenager too! I love buying for them. They always have something practical like shoes or pants and something fun that they want. I try really hard to get both. What kid wants to wake up Christmas morning to pants?
DYK I love hearing that others pick Angel Tree kids too!? Imagine if everyone picked one!?! No one would go without.
DYK it's easy to get creative with gifts? I love shopping and giving!
DYK there's a trade off? I'm good with scrapbooking and crafts. I'm really creative. Downside? I stink at math and science. My brain doesn't work that way. My husband is exactly the opposite. He's got a Masters in Physics and Bachelors degrees in Physics and Mathematics. He manages our money but crafty things terrify him. I was excited last week when I got him to color with the me and the kids. I guess we balance each other out.
DYK I'm interested in seeing how my kids turn out? So far, my son is totally like Shawn. Parker doesn't like to color. Painting is out of the question as is play dough, glue, glitter and clay. He hates to be messy. (Certainly didn't get that from me!) The areas that he is like me are the areas that I break the trend. Although I'm very creative and don't mind to make messes, I'm also very organized. Parker too likes things in a particular order. He likes things in their place. My daughter, however, is much more of a free spirit. She likes to color and paint. She's totally a slob! She goes to the playroom and dumps out toys and leaves without playing with them. She doesn't care if she's sticky. I'm always amazed how two kids with the same parents living in the same environment can be so different! I love that about them.
DYK I did that gift for my kids' teachers one year?
DYK last year I did all homemade goodies (hot choc mix, homemade peppermint marshmallows, Mocho cakes, triple chocolate bark) with a pretty bowl for the teachers?
DYK I'm not sure what this years' gift will be?
DYK I have a Mom's Night Out this week, and I'm giving all my friends bags of homemade chocolate cherry biscotti? DYK I need to make that tomorrow?
