Just making sure I'm doing this right!!

Day four of P2 (skipped directly to P2 because of diabetes) and I'm just making sure that I'm doing everything right..... I've lost 2.7 pounds since Monday (happy! happy!) and "think" I'm making some wise choices, but let's see what you think!!

B: 2 scrambled eggs with chopped canadian bacon, mushrooms, onions and red bell pepper with LF sharp cheddar cheese and a cup of 1% milk.

Snack: Tangerine

L: Sweet Tomatoes for a huge salad (at least 3 cups) of "legal" veggies, according to the list and oil/vinegar. As my sugar level was a little low (as I'd had virtually no carbs for the day) I had one of the small corn bread thingies (about 2"x2"x1").

Snack: 15 cashews with 1 cup of 1% milk.

D: That wonderful Shrimp Casserole that Cathy posted on 12/11. Fresh broccoli (about 1.5 cups) and a very small WW roll (about 1 oz.) with a scant amount of olive oil and spices to dip.

Snack: SF/FF (yuck!) Chocolate Pudding

From what I can tell, I'm getting in my milk, veggies, a fruit, grains and everything else that I should be getting.

Any tweaking that you see that I need to do?

Thanks,

Sharon

Deb,

THANK YOU for understanding my dilemma. I never knew anything about diabetes before I was diagnosed, so I 'get' the fact that some of the information that I was given - no matter how fantastic it was - really didn't pertain to me. Lows are dangerous and when you start getting loopy, you aren't able to select the wisest choice sometimes.

I usually have a quick carb (about 15 gr), something like glucose tabs, 4 oz. of Coke or OJ and then wait for about 15 minutes and re-test. Once it gets to an acceptable level (even though I won't be feeling good for ages) I have some sort of protein - whether it be cheese or peanut butter with crackers or something that will sustain my sugar level.

I'm not on insulin.
