Prayers for Virginia Tech...
8
Mon, 04-16-2007 - 8:20pm
Somber, sober thoughts and heartfelt prayers to all the victims, their families, and their friends.
Please join me in a prayer chain tonight. When these things happen, prayer is the most powerful thing I know of...
My hand is outstretched...

As I hold on to your hand and reach out my other....may the people in mourning find some peace in knowing that they are being held in our arms tonight.

As I reach your hand, I hole out my other hand with love and caring in prayers being sent to all the families and friends of the fallen at Virginia Tech.

Thank you, Brenda. Somehow, holding your hand and Beth's seems to help...

I want to share something with you all. Without going in to details, I have been personally affected by the murders. One of those murdered was my friend's brother. I don't pray, as some of you may know. It's hard, sometimes, to find an outlet for pain and a reason to be positive. My friend's brother was a hair donor to Locks of Love, a non profit group that makes hair prostheses for children with medical hair loss. They use donated, human hair. I've decided to start donating to Locks of Love and spreading the word about the charity. It is a way for me to heal and carry on. Plus, it's fun. They won't be able to use my hair for the prostheses because it's bleached, but I can still donate it and they'll sell it. They need ponytails 10-12 inches long. Please check out www.locksoflove.org

Thanks,

Lucky

Thanks. I didn't know him but am horribly sad for my friend. The Locks of Love thing sounds like a fun way to honor him....although, at 41, my hair grows very slow. Plus, with all the chemicals to cover the gray......

Interestingly enough, I have drank less in the last 4 days than I have for most of my life. This is the first time I have allowed emotion to enter unmedicated. I can't say it feels good....but at least it feels like SOMEthing other than numbness.
