Free medications from retailers
Some stores are even giving away drugs — with a valid prescription, of course. Chains like Stop & Shop, Giant, Wegmans, Publix, Meijer and and Schnucks Pharmacy, have launched programs that allow for a free 14-day supply of the generic oral antibiotics regardless of your insurance. You can continue to refill prescriptions as needed. Many of the drugs covered are:
- Amoxicillin
- Cephalexin
- Sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim
- Ciprofloxacin (excluding Ciprofloxacin XR)
- Penicillin VK
- Ampicillin
- Tetracycline
- Erythromycin Stearate and Ethylsuccinate
- Doxycycline Hyclate (capsules)
Meijer is also providing free pre-natal vitamins.
