dyk Abigail was thought to be autistic, then early onset ADHD, then even childhood depression was suggested before we got all her food intolerances and allergies removed from her diet
dyk aritificial food dye - all colors (red 40 and yellow 5 & 6 are actually recommended NOT TO BE CONSUMED BY CHILDREN)
dyk many many children also suffer from look-a-like disorders but are being (mis)treated for ADHD
DYK I've looked at a lot of running schedules (mostly for the purposes of training for a 5K), and they all have at least one day of rest or a different form of exercise between days of running.
DYK I think that's to give your running muscles a rest. But I'm sure it depends on who you ask, because Pete ran cross country and track in high school, and he had to run every day (although he did vary the distances).
DYK since you've had problems with your legs hurting after too much running, just be careful. It would stink if you hurt yourself right when you're getting started.
dyk I have a friend who teaches in Ohio and they started that program at her school a few years ago
dyk she was a 1st grade teacher
dyk I had been thinking about it lately b/c my DD got placed in a split class this year for 2nd grade
dyk I think it's called "Looping"
dyk my friend only had one or 2 kids the first year that didn't stay with her for 2nd grade
dyk it worked out well because (unfortunately) they weren't kids that she was going to miss having IYKWIM
dyk a couple of years ago my friend moved from the classroom to the curriculum development dept
dyk I think the split will be good for DD -- it'll force her to step it up a bit, and she has good leadership skills already so she'll be a good role model for the 1st graders

dyk I'll see how I feel after tomorrow, but the more I think about, I bet every other day would be better for me.
dyk I certainly don't want it to ever feel like punishment!
