dyk... Abi got a bra today???

It's hysterical actually. Adorable. And it will never leave this house! HAHA

We were at JCPenny after her soccer game and they have MASSIVE clearance sales and she needed new panties, another cotton dress ($6 marked down from $29.99!!!) and some tights. (I got some tights too!)

So, the panties - the basic cotton ones 5 to the package for $8 were NOT on sale. But there was this whole shelf of clearance panties - $1.99 - the really nice ones - like adults wear, but in children's patterns and styles, etc.

In that pile there was a "bra" in her size (6/small) that matches some of the panties she picked out and so I let her get it b/c she was just so excited about it... and well, we do try and encourage any form of modesty or recognition on her part that she needs to cover her body for safety and hygeine.

The panties ended up being $0.99 so that was great too!! I'm going to go back and get her 4 more pairs I think for x-mas. I love that she can wear the size 6 now!!! But I'll be leaving any further bras on the table - they had a leopard print one w/ matching boy shorts in her size that she REALLY wanted but I talked her out of it. HAHA

In the house of no two piece bathings suits, you can only push me so far! :-)

dyk today was our second soccer game.... and....

Well, soccer season has been hit or miss - largely MISS.

Anyway... Today it took two parents to help me on the sidelines to get Abigail under control, keep Deklan off the field behind us (he actually entered the field and kicked the ball DURING the team's game - which they all thought was hysterical) and still allow me to do any coaching of the kids on the field.

Abigail played about 2-4 minutes of the games - twice as much as she played last game - and being one other kid short (our other girl was out of town) we ended up doing 8 minute quarters to give my kiddos a chance to rest.

Luckily the weather is slightly cooler - 87 (Rather than 95 last weekend) and sunny - and I had a large umbrella so the team could sit in the shadow (shade, lol) when they weren't on the field.

FInally, after two bottles of water, halftime snack and sitting in the shadow wearing her neck cooler, chomping gum and lots of crying, she decided she was ready to get in the game.

At the end of the game, it seems the parents are still happy with how the practice, games and everything go and the kids all have a great time, so I guess it's a success. It's just awkward for me to go from embarrassed - horribly embarrassed, to elated she's in the game, to excited over the kids doing plays, back to embarrassed/frustrated all in a very short span of time.

Abigail is the blonde ponytailed girl in highlighter yellow.

Abigail - as surprised to have possession of the ball as we are that she's in the game:
