DYK thanks for the coupon site!
dyk thank you.
DYK I used an internet coupon for $1 off 2 boxes of Wheat Chex at Walmart the other day?
DYK Now I actually have to eat the Wheat Chex?
DYK I used it to make some half-way legal Halloween trail mix which is pretty good, actually?
DYK But I still have another whole box now and after Bruce tried one bite of it plain, I know for sure now that I'll be the one that has to eat the rest of it?

dyk I think we all have some sort of family issue or other regarding holidays--I don't know anyone who doesn't!
dyk my brother is my biggest annoyance this year...we'll be up in his town for Thanksgiving, and my dad will also be there. DH and I and the kids will stay at my ILs (brother doesn't have room). He pretty much told me he is counting on me to watch his DD (3) on the day before Thanksgiving while he's at work...which is fine, since my kids will want to see her, and she's a pretty good kid. But then he also said that my dad and my niece will come over to my ILs for Thanksgiving dinner, but he won't. WTH?? He's always kind of been like this--he doesn't "do" holidays. And he refuses to spend a holiday with people he "doesn't know" just for the sake of being there. But it's his own fault that he "doesn't know" my ILs (he's never made the effort). His attitude just really irritates me.
dyk I did draw the line, though, when he asked if I would watch my niece the day after Thanksgiving...dude, I will be SHOPPING on Black Friday! ;)
dyk THAT would seriously tick me off!
dyk I'm with you--I would just rather plan to enjoy a quiet holiday at home than deal with all that drama
dyk I know I've said this before, but I *love* to hear about how good people are to their dogs.
dyk and the way you talk about Daisy, I can tell how much you love her.
DYK Oh Chloe would do anything for food as well?
DYK She's such a little pig?
DYK Wonder if Jada would let her borrow the pig costume?
DYK It would suit her perfectly?
DYK This may sound really mean, but since we're talking about dressing up our dogs, I used to put socks on my rottweiler, Princess?
DYK She really hated it, but it was so funny to watch her walk around trying to shake off the socks? She would pick her feet way up off the ground? It was hilarious to watch?
DYK There really was a reason for doing this, tho? I told Bruce that we could never have a dog that was mean? Especially a huge dog like Princess..she was full-blooded rottweiler?
DYK So I did this from time to time, knowing she hated it? But I wanted to make sure she would tolerate it? The most I ever got was a show of teeth when I did it? Never a growl?
DYK She was a great dog? Everyone that ever met her just loved her to death?

dyk that's why I like to host--I can control the food!
dyk we hosted Thanksgiving 2 years ago, and I think my BIL about lost his mind over what I did/didn't cook--no mashed potatoes is a crime on Thanksgiving, apparently!
dyk so this Thanksgiving will be less-than SBD since it's at my ILs...I try to make minor modifications as much as I can, but it's tough. Everything there is full-fat, etc. I often bring some healthier snacks, milk, etc., and usually make a trip to the grocery store while we're up there so that I'm not totally out of my element.
dyk I need to start planning our Christmas menu...I'll do much of it SBD-friendly, but there will still be plenty of goodies (I like to bake too much!)
dyk I just made a consignment store appointment
dyk the first opening they had was December 12th?!?!
dyk apparently this economy is great for the consignment stores!
