dyk and that was it.

dyk I wish Sean would come home now. Only another 1.5 hours at work.

dyk I'm just bored. I don't WANT to check out health insurance numbers.

dyk I could fold the load of laundry on my bed... but I don't wanna do that either.

dyk I should make a list of the ways in which Sean can romance me.

dyk I wish I were a better number cruncher

dyk I am looking at this health plan - it's not an HSA which we've sent out guy back to the drawing board to search the other 7 major providers to see if they (we're looking at UnitedHealthCare right now) have HSA w/ maternity

dyk and it's not a bad coverage plan.

dyk $1500 deductible + maternity is $535 per month (all 4 of us)
dyk $2500 deductible + maternity is $450 per month (all 4 of us)

dyk there can be two deductibles per family - so I need to ask how I could put Sean and I on one and the kids on another -

dyk but I'm thinking, maternity costs for my OB alone are $2,000. Well, that would more than meet the $1500 deductible then the rest is paid 80% by insurance - the rest of EVERYTHING for the entire year

dyk so I need to crunch numbers to find out if the $100 more per month still puts us ahead

dyk does ANY of that make sense??? I need help! lol

DYK I know Sean's coverage is ending, so I wanted to give you something else to consider.

DYK don't let a lapse in coverage happen for more than 60 days.

dyk no, that doesn't make sense b/c it's an individual deductible - so maybe I should put me on the $1,000 plan and the rest of the family on the $3500 as office visits and Rxs are not subject to deductible

dyk and That is why we want an HSA - ONE deductible for the WHOLE family per year - we share it. Which is prob why HSA have no maternity - knock out that deductible in one shabang. lol

dyk we're hoping to have no more than a few weeks in coverage actually.

dyk but we have no pre-existing conditions at the moment that we anyone was treated for in the last year -

dyk Sean and I both take a daily Rx (my anti-depressant) but we're already set up with docs and have done all the follow up so when the refills run out it's just called in - and the Rx is a $4.00 one. ;-)

dyk we're hoping to have the new coverage start Dec 1st.

dyk so starting this check, we're putting aside weekly into a new account (that the premium can draft from) 1/4 of the premium we think we'll have so that we can be ready to go when we find the right plan

dyk but thank you for the heads up on the 60 days - I don't know the rules for Texas, but it just solidifies the plan we've got!!!

dyk and now we wait for the insurance man (from Dave Ramsey's program) to contact us back with new info.

dyk but I can cross one more thing off my list and actually talking it out here (with Joy!) has helped me figure out what I needed -

dyk deductibles always trip me up - but I think I've got it figured out now!!!

dyk it helps I know roughly what a delivery costs w/ my doc and hospital.

dyk I just altered the wishlist on Southpaw Enterprises

dyk and I think we may need one less mat to cover the floor -especially since we're making the crash mat - I am sewing it myself!!!

dyk I changed the pony bolster (the big swing thing) to the standard one so that as the kids get older they can still use it - it's a little longer and has a 350 lb weight load

dyk and subtracted one of the $200 tumbling mats, putting the crash mat in its place

dyk so we're DOWN to $1450 for the room. And I think Sean can MAKE the trapeze bar as well - which we're holding off on b/c the pony bolster HAS a bar that can be used LIKE the trapeze - so we'll see if we even need it - that's another $79 not spent off the $1450!
