DYK He's experiencing some allergic reactions to the Remicade, Cathy. Has Jillian ever had any skin breakouts?
DYK Some of his are really painful...those are caused by the Crohn's themselves. But then some of them look the same, but are not painful. Those are an allergic reaction to the Remicade.
DYK Bruce & his dr have been paying real close attention to when these skin problems start to happen. And while he was off the Remicade, the skin problems disappeared...and then re-appeared once he started the Remicade again.
DYK It's a bad enough problem to want to find an alternative to the Remicade.
DYK There is supposed to be much less chance of allergic reaction to the Humira. And if it keeps the Crohn's under control without the skin problems, it will be well worth it?
DYK As far as the remission is concerned, what they are hoping for is a remission without Remicade or Humira one day. Just to get the Crohn's under control enough that he can maintain with just the oral medications. I have heard of some people that go into remission without drugs. That certainly would be nice!!!

DYK Now I'm wondering what the heck was I thinking?
DYK I really don't blame you for not wanting to convert the old stove for electric?

DYK of all the issues I could face, I think the thing that freaks me out the most is the tearing?
dyk I second that.
DYK The first time I held Maegan was really a big event?
DYK It was 6 days after she was born?
DYK And no one except the nurses & drs had held her before I did?
DYK It was just a combo of her being so early and so tiny and me being so sick that I couldn't see her...so they brought her to me in ICU?
