DYK

Over The Land Is April

OVER the land is April,
Over my heart a rose;
Over the high, brown mountain
The sound of singing goes.
Say, love, do you hear me,
Hear my sonnets ring?
Over the high, brown mountain,
Love, do you hear me sing?

By highway, love, and byway
The snows succeed the rose.
Over the high, brown mountain
The wind of winter blows.
Say, love, do you hear me,
Hear my sonnets ring?
Over the high, brown mountain
I sound the song of spring,
I throw the flowers of spring.
Do you hear the song of spring?
Hear you the songs of spring?

Robert Louis Stevenson

DYK I am exhausted today

DYK the baseball game went until 11:00pm and we lost 11-3 (sad, sad game)

DYK I do not think the gigantic coffee I picked up this morning is going to do it...I may need to pop my afternoon ginseng early!

dyk the raccoon mama did not pick up her babies

dyk the rescue lady drilled me about where we put them - lady, we put them as close to where we think she was coming in as possible!!!

dyk and no, I cannot drive to outside Lake Jackson to drop them off

dyk someone can come GET them if they want... lol

dyk I am an animal lover, but come on, they are infant raccoons.... nuisances really, when they get older, haha, and natural selection is a beyotch.

DYK They really should come get them, I agree with you

DYK of course I am the sap that would have them in a box with baby blankets, feeding them formula!

dyk one of the volunteers lived only a few miles from me (not hard to do we're in middle of town, haha) and she came and got them

dyk FYI - NEVER feed them, not even water, you can make them very sick

dyl we had them in a box w/ an old dish towel, warm, dry and together

dyk and now they are no longer my problem, but they were super cute

dyk 8am Monday, Tuesday, wed or thursday is great at the grocery stores

dyk I just did two full hours of really hard yard work - while my dad mowed

dyk love my dad for mowing - he has a nice new John Deer and he spent a solid 2 hours out there too it's beautiful but while he was mowing the back 40 I was raking the front acre with my hard rake to get the smaller sticks up and out -

dyk I am EXHAUSTED had to stop once for food - nearly fainted and several times for water

dyk then I unloaded the trailer ofbranches and sticks and debris and in backing the trailer (it's an oversized one) I took out part of our gate/fence and scraped down the side of my dad's truck

dyk he said no worries, it's getting a new paint job next month

dyk ok, whew. lol

DYK I'm glad the babies are no longer your problem!

DYK good to know about feeding them...not that I would have actually done that, a phone call to animal control would have definitely been made

DYK Anywho, glad it worked out for you- and now you have spunky monkey memories to last a lifetime! :-)
