dyk it's after 7a and this thread is just getting started

dyk and there aren't any new posts to April's thread

dyk dare I ask what people were up to last night

dyk I was comforting my friend

dyk hateful things are being said about her daughter by people who have no clue

dyk and friend is questioning where God is in all of this

dyk not a good thing for anyone involved

For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.  The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.       Song of Solomon 2:  11,12

dyk that is so true

dyk I may have to use that, if you don't mind

dyk and it's the legal system itself that caused bf and her dd to not reach out to the family as they wanted to at the time of the accident

dyk bf wanted to, but was told not to by her attorney

dyk I wonder if they'd all be in the same place now had contact been made back in August/September

DYK Summer school will cost us $160 for each 3 week period?

DYK I'm assuming she would need to go for 6 weeks?

DYK To answer the question..if she fails and either also fails summer school or we choose not to have her go to summer school, she repeats the 7th grade next year?

DYK We have tried to scare her half to death about failing...it really didn't help last year?

DYK But we have told her what her circumstances are and also what options are available at this time?

DYK I guess it's bleak and bleaker?

DYK I doubt she will pull out a good enough grade not to fail?

DYK I'm really wondering if she will even try?

DYK There is one thing I can truly say tho...Maegan has and has always had all the resources she could ever need to make good grades right at her fingertips?

DYK She just refuses to use them?

DYK Her current excuse is just that she is too lazy to do the work?

DYK Yet she has been doing work at home for 3 solid weeks..and it's good work?

DYK If we are truly covering what she is studying, she should be doing great?

DYK It's like what her teacher said, I can make Maegan open her book, but I can't make her do the work?

DYK Well if she can't, being that she is there, I sure can't since I'm not allowed to be there?

dyk we have a confirmed case of swine flu 9 miles away

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had confirmed one case of H1N1 from Lake Jackson in neighboring Brazoria County, however, according to The Facts, the daily newspaper there.

dyk I wish she'd stay away from them too, but I don't think she will

dyk I think she's doing it from the viewpoint of what potential jurors will have in their minds

dyk her dd is being tried in the court of public opinion which is the worst place to be tried

dyk and the fact so it's so much specualtion and hearsay, which isn't admissable, what purpose does it serve

dyk in my mind, all it does is taint the jury pool, making a fair trial next to impossible

dyk it's yet one more example of Mark's mantra:

dyk and what would happen if she repeated the 7th grade?

dyk do you think that would make it worse??? Or motivate her to work harder to catch up?

DYK We have tried the 'what do you want to be' angle...she really would like to be a vet, since she loves animals?

DYK I don't see her ever making that her career?

DYK We had said 'you most certainly will go to college'...she has told my Mother she doesn't want to attend college..but she won't say that to us?

DYK We've said, 'you are hurting your chances to get into a good college'...doesn't seem to phase her?

DYK We've asked her if she wants to sling hamburgers for the rest of her life...which isn't a bad place to start, but it's not something you want to make a career of...

DYK Now I'm to the point where I will not throw my money away on her college unless she cleans up her act?

DYK I keep hoping something will hit home?

DYK She seems to think that she should need to get homework assignments thru her counselor like her friend does..the one that is in special needs classes?

DYK I told her absolutely not...she has to deal with things the way they are..she should be responsible to do that at her age?
