dyk it's after 7a and this thread is just getting started

dyk and there aren't any new posts to April's thread

dyk dare I ask what people were up to last night

dyk I was comforting my friend

dyk hateful things are being said about her daughter by people who have no clue

dyk and friend is questioning where God is in all of this

dyk not a good thing for anyone involved

For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.  The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.       Song of Solomon 2:  11,12

dyk not only do I agree with that statement about not going to the grandma's - which I think Rebekah does , too, but I think it might be good if you (rebekah) put that girlfriend to WORK those days she was there

dyk I have fond memories actually of volunteering with my Granny at her work (Family and Child Protective Services)

dyk every other summer from age 10-18

dyk I did everything from copying, making phone calls, running errands, getting coffee - CLEANING the offices, to counseling (older years) and childcare when the parents had meeting and court dates

DYK I honestly have no idea what she would do if she had to repeat the grade?

DYK I'm hoping it would make her wake up and realize that school is not all fun and games and it's not a place for her to sit and daydream all day?

dyk Abi's bookshelf and desk are in her room now, and I hung her artwork on the wall - her painting of the sunset w/ storm and her sunrise

dyk I find myself just looking at them, sort of lost in it - she's very talented yet it seems.. I don't even know. lol we should paint more

dyk are you a book reader?

dyk I am addicted to and really really loving this book called Coloring Outside the Lines

dyk and it might be beneficial to you in dealing with this situation - it talks alot about intelligence vs education as we know it today (public schools) and how to engage children outside of school b/c our school does NOT promote or even tolerate real intelligence, creativity and individuality

DYK It really could be a maturity thing, Jennie?

DYK I have thought about that since she was born a preemie?

DYK And she still likes to play with kids younger than she is..doesn't really fit in with girls her age?

DYK But I have always figured she could be that way and still be responsible for her schoolwork?

DYK She started going downhill with her grades really about 3 years ago..it's been a struggle ever since then?

dyk I know - it feels natural to do it, too, huh? But trust me, not all parents are like that. They often have better/easier/other things to do.

dyk M prob doesn't appreciate it now... but she will.

DYK Unless I tell her 'no car until you have a job'..like my parents did to me?

DYK As a result, no driver's license until I was 19?

dyk maybe she's just running out of steam trying to keep pace with the other girls/boys her "age" It's like they say on What Not To Wear - it's not about the number, it's about the fit.

dyk You are so in tune with her, you are going to figure this out and it's going to be so great for all of you!
