dyk this is an issue I have no dealt with personally, but one that I feel strongly about - but not in the way most people think. I am always wondering (when I've heard friends/family go through it) what the whole story is.
dyk I am so glad you are feeling strong and ready to meet it head on. Steve really needs you if he has strayed from what you know he wants in his life - which is you and the kids. I always wonder what kind of hurt (usually unrelated to the spouse) has bubbled up...
dyk he doesn't look old enough to be in MLB
dyk but he sure is adorable
DYK he's really peeved at his older brother (which I think I mentioned before), which got him on a kick of doing things that HE wants to do.
dyk I just told Abigail we are not naming the baby "Sunflower" and she burst into tears
dyk alot of people have been concerned about Dek with the new baby, jealousy, being "replaced" etc
dyk but Deklan LOVES babies so much, he's wanted a "real one" for several years now, which is significant b/c he's only 4!! haha
dyk he has a long list of things he's ready to teach the baby starting with walking, so that she can climb and play forts
dyk and Abigail wants to carry the baby and change her diaper so that the baby knows that she (Abi) can take care of her and be "trusted really good"
dyk can you tell we work a LOT on responsibility, truth and trust? lol
DYK Sure, here's the recipe, Sue!
Anytime Turkey Chili
Light & Tasty
fixed 2/19/09, 11/5/09...this is great chili !!!
I created this dish to grab the voters’ attention at a chili contest we held in our backyard. With pumpkin, brown sugar and cooked turkey, it’s like an entire Thanksgiving dinner in one bowl. –Brad Bailey of Cary, North Carolina
SERVINGS: 8
CATEGORY: Low Fat
TIME: Prep: 15 min. Cook: 1-1/4 hours
2/3 cup chopped sweet onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1-1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15-1/2 ounces) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
1 can (15 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) reduced-sodium chicken broth (I use a 32oz. box)
1 1/2 cup water (I added the extra cup to thin it out just a bit)
2 tablespoons brown sugar (you can sub agave nectar or just skip it altogether)
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 cups cubed cooked turkey breast (subbed chicken tenderloins)
In a large saucepan, saute the onion, green pepper, oregano, garlic and cumin in oil until vegetables are tender. Stir in the beans, pumpkin, tomatoes, broth, water, brown sugar, chili powder and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add turkey; heat through. Yield: 8 servings (2 quarts).
