ROFL - I thought you were going to warn us that we'd had an old 'friend' visit our board recently.

Thanks for the warning! I told dh a few years ago that I would gladly handle all of the sex talks .... if he would just do the driving thing! Of course he's helped with some of the sex discussions and I'm sure I'll do my share of driving, but it sure sounded like a fair trade to me! Congratulations to your dd for this milestone.

Just got back from taking DD out for a drive.
Please excuse typos from trembling fingers.

Scary stuff you say Pam?? ROFL...

The concept of your "child" being in complete control of a two thousand pound guided missle capable of death, distruction and mayhem, approaching oncoming traffic in a two lane road, while sitting helpless and powerless in the passenger seat, trying to remain calm so SHE remains calm...well..it's just beyond words..

She actually did very well. Drove conservatively and followed directions, but OH...how she pushes my buttons..(all in a good way. She just likes to drive me crazy.)
Here are some exact quotes:
"So..daddio.. how many 'horsepowers' does this baby have?" (horsepowers??)
"Speed IS my middle name."
"I'll bet our car is faster than Stephanies. I can't WAIT to find out."

Aaaagh...

Nawwww..
I think everyone's on to the 'friend' now.
The pattern:
1. Said troll crawls out of his hole to offer nothing but blistering insults.
2. Later notice several deleted posts.
3. Later notice an e-mail privately sent to the one attacked.
4. Said troll crawls back in his hole until next time.
He always seems to stay a quarter inch away from TOS. Pretty smart fella.
This must be the frustrating part of being a CL.

OK, I think I'm safe here in NY, but let me know if she starts aiming East!!

My DD is still young for this, but two friends' DS's just got liscences - YIKES it happens so fast!! Fortunately, in NYC kids can get most places thay want to go on subway/bus, so driving isn't as big a deal and they're not so much in a rush to drive everywhere. I still remember vividly the first time my parents let me drive by myself!! What a rush!!

My father was really laid back about us kids driving. I had only driven around our neighborhood when he let me behind the wheel on the highway... and he promptly went to sleep. A couple of months later, never having driven in traffic, he put me behind the wheel of his pickup and horse trailer, pointed me north... and then promptly went to sleep. When he woke up an hour and a half later, I was still driving round and round the loop in OKC cause I kept missing our exit!

The first time my son drove on the highway, you guessed it! My father said SURE, I DON'T SEE WHY NOT when DS asked him.

So what's Daddio's problem? Hehe!
