What's the best one to get???????
My dd(10) just told me her "friend" forced her to look at internet porn at her house! She had Net Nanny & it didn't block it.
I think it's good my dd told me - she said she TRIED to get her friend not to bring it up, but she disrespected her.
What to do???????

The only one that works is Parenting 1.0 and it's free.

Spector pro was recommended by our local police dept.

It's a change in status conferred with your child in the maternity ward.
No software is a substitute for involved parenting.

haha!
Ahh, but she is a teen and is under the influence of other less than reputable teens in school where unfortunately I am an outsider. She does get on the computer while I am doing other stuff like running the household. I cannot watch her 24/7. MIne was a serious question, hmmm...guess I am going to look elsewhere...

It was a serious answer, although somewhat playfully delivered.
No software will replace involved parenting.
Take control of the computer and your child.

I'm new at this guard your computer stuff. My computer has no protection software whatsoever and I came here for help. I came here for "HOW?" help. My DD is right now in Atlanta at the Peach Bowl with her HS Band. She has called me once and she left on Monday and that was only because I text messaged her and told he to call me. Her call ws distant and not at all what I wanted in the experience. I hate the way she is acting toward me. She was my first love and now I am losing her. I'm kinda losing it too. Emotionally I dont' know if I am going to be able to do this teen thing. It's killing me and I was hoping that this board would ease my mind but maybe not.
Happy New Year to you too!
Aw, Lark - you will find support here. We use Spector and it has been a very valuable tool for us. We have been able to head more than one potentially not good situation off at the pass. We all do what we must do for our teens.
And, you aren't losing her. She is going through the very important and necessary process of becoming independent. She is still yours and she always will be.

Keep the computer in an open place, like the livingroom, put a password on it that you know and she doesn't, log in for her when she needs to go on the internet and don't let her have unsupervised time on the computer.
