Well, the real story comes out as to how he obtained his injuries..you won't
beleive it!
He told his mother and the woman that is trying to help her with all this
that the special ed teacher from last year and the police officer both
grabbed an arm and threw him to the floor (face down) - then the officer
handcuffed him and told him he was under arrest then dragged him through
the halls and got him to his feet threw him face forward into the wall..
then preceeded to take him to the squad car at when he arrived he again
threw him against the car, that is when my nephew knew that his teeth were
broken loose.
First of all, the 200+ lb officer had no reason to handle him this way, and
my nephew is well under 100 lbs..
Result: sister is removing him from the school system, taking him to another
facility...not sure which one yet... and there are charges being brought
against the officer, and the school system.
I gave her info on contacting the OASIS, Online Aspergers Syndrome Information and
Support

I would have to agree with you on the excessive use of force.
Tragic
We have had a lot of violence in out school system and have off duty police officers at all middle and high schools. I have no doubts they have not been taught about the various disabilities they will be encountering(past what they had in police training)
OTOH, there is a point where a teacher has every right to defend herself. It should not be part of anyone's job to be hit, bit, pushed, or spit upon. I taught in Head Start for 4 months-quit as soon as the next job appeared because I could no longer handle it. Its demeaning, even when coming from a 4 year old. I had bruises and blood had been drawn as well. And...nothing is done because of the rights of the child; we were not even allowed to restrain the kids because of fear of legal action(no time outs, etc)
Everyone cannot be mainstreamed; your nephew may need a more restrictive placement and/or a personal aide(although these tend to be female making a tad over minimum wage-shes not going to last if he is violent)
Still, even feeling as I do, theres no reason the TRAINED officer could not have handled a 100 lb child more skillfully
