DD got home from school yesterday with a really good attitude and walks in the door all chatty and I reciprocated. I have in the past not been able to "let go" of what happened previously and normally would still be holding a grudge. She was happy that the missing agenda had reappeared and it was used. After we sat and chatted about her day for a bit, she immediately got busy with her homework. All was going quite well.

Dh's aunt stopped by and dd used that distraction to attempt to go get on the computer. She tried hers first and then her brothers. Nice try! She shrieks "you changed all the passwords!"

All in all she took it well - she stated she was acting like a spoiled brat the night before and was really ticked at me for not appreciating that she did try the day prior, which I acknowledged. I stated that she did make the effort but it was not the effort that was agreed upon last week when her grades were first disclosed to me. She applauded me for "stepping up" and sticking to my guns and never mentioned the internet again for the rest of the night - which had to be killing her as she is in the midst of a budding romance. Torture!

Friday is the last day of the quarter - I am being realistic as to what I expect grade wise for atleast this quarter. At last check she had 3 C's and a B in the core classes, with an awkward hope for 2 of the C's to be pulled up to B's (the 3rd C I think will be next to impossible as that was the class she was missing the most assignments in with many resulting in 0's) We shall see!

In addition, she did receive confirmation that she made it on to her school trip this summer which she was quite excited about - atleast I have that leverage for the next quarter.

All in all, it went quite well. I knew it would go one of two ways and so glad she took the way I wanted her to LOL She felt bad about being a witch the night before, and I think was quite shocked I wasn't holding on to that as I normally would have.

Thanks to you all for being my sounding board and I will stay updated as things occur!

You handled it beautifully! You must be proud of your dd for at least being able to acknowledge her "brathood" the previous evening. This will be the best thing for her in the long run and I'm betting she'll even be able to tell you that someday.
