Exchange student update & photos (maybe)

Hello everyone,
Our exchange student arrived happily and safely from Germany Wednesday night. She has terrible jet lag and I've only seen her awake for a few hours at a time since she got here! She speaks English beautifully and, during the short windows of time that she has been awake, she seems very sweet.
Our once-small town (that has turned into an ugly suburban sprawl over the past decade) of 20,000 residents is a big shock to her. She comes froma village of 2,000. She is very comfortable at dd's small school (150 girls in the high school) because it feels more like home.
For those of you who followed my carpool story, the famous C & A also took in students and we've been kind of thrown together with them. I am SO glad that I never said anything negative to the moms about their daughters when this was all going down - enough time has passed now and we are getting along just fine. In the group photo, A is on the left, C next to her and my dd is seated with her friend, M, on her lap. It's interesting - there are only five families at dd's school who took in students and three are from my town - strange.
Here's the maybe part of the photos - I didn't have any trouble uploading them (I've never used this service before), but I'm not sure if this is how to share them or not.
Any of you techno-folks can jump in and rescue me at any time here ... I only take photos...

Well ... I tried. I use the Kodak pic sharing program too, and so when I click on the link you posted, I go right to my own photos!
It sounds like your student is settling in -- a little surprised about the jet lag though. We've travelled quite a bit and have found that travelling west isn't nearly so bad as travelling east. It's usually best to just force yourself to 'be on the time' you arrive in.
Did your student have to buy uniforms to attend your DD's school?
When did your student arrive? How is it going?
