Parents of kids with a 5+ year age spread? I love it here but sometimes have questions specific to the fact that my DDs are 8.5 years apart in age.

Just wondering because I haven't stumbled on it yet.

Thanks and enjoy this beautiful spring day!

I'm not sure they have a 'widely spaced sibs' but they do have an 8-9yo board as well as a Parents of Grade Schoolers.

I know what you mean. My DDs are 13 years apart. Me and my sis are 9 years apart.

I'm in the same boat. My oldest 2 are 7 years apart, then another 6 year gap. My oldest was 15 when my youngest was born. The issues are different with wide spread gaps.

Yeah! I'm not alone!

Maybe we should start a board for wide age spreads...if someone has time (ROFL).

While it's nice that my girls will never fight over boyfriends, cars, the phone, etc. it brings with it an entirely different range of issues and makes every day a challenge.

The biggest one for me is the way my 13.5DD talks to my 5DD. She doesn't even realize that everything she says is demanding, critical, hateful or just plain mean. I don't remember the last time she said anything with a smile on her face or they just laughed together. If anyone has conquered *that* beast, I'd love your ideas.

Sometimes my DD13 looks at DD9 1/2mo and says, "Why are you crying" but not in a sweet way, more like, "your annoying me and I cant hear the TV". Im hoping as she gets use to this baby thing she will learn to be sweeter. I mean, she loves her, I think she is a little embarassed to do all the babytalk and stuff.
