Well ... I tried ...

... and my first attempt failed pretty miserably.
DS asked me to take him to the bookstore today and so, taking all the advice from this board to heart, I decided that since we were in the car together, this was the perfect opportunity for a 'talk'.
It didn't take long however, and I really hadn't said much, before DS clapped his hands over his ears, turned to look out the window and said (rather loudly) "awkward mom, awkward!"
Guess I'll try again when we're hanging up Christmas lights next week.

ROFL!!
Ah well - no one said it would be easy, did they?
I don't remember having just one talk with DD15, it's been more a series of talks; and consistently saying "you can talk to me about anything". I did give her the "What's happening to my body" book (there's one for boys and for girls) that sort of gets the bare bones stuff out (without the awkwardness of *looking* at your mom).

LOLOL. Yup; I remember that too. One detailed sentence was usually about enough to get the same type of response!

ROFLOL!!!!
Yeah you tried.
I had a boyfriend in high school who's mother used to say to us whenever we left his house "Remember, you won't get into any trouble if you keep your pants on".
Mortifying. Positively mortifying.
What did you say? did you laugh? Remember when I told you all that dd literally crawled underneath my bed while I was giving her a "talk"? Now we can talk about it better...just keep at it. It is kinda funny, though...
