Feel Bad for DD

I had barely got back from taking DS to school today when DD called me from her school on her cell phone. It seems she forgot that a litrugy is scheduled for today, which means it's a 'dress' day and she is supposed to be in dress uniform. She completely forgot and was in regular school polo. So ... she had to sit in the school office until I got there with her dress blouse. A big unit test was scheduled today in her AP Euro class which was first period this morning! DH said she studied for the test the entire ride up to school and was very upset when she realized she was in the wrong clothes.
Thankfully, the traffic had eased up a bit and I got to campus in about 45 minutes so she only missed about 25 minutes of class. I hope her teacher is feeling charitable today! Poor thing. To add insult to injury, she got a Saturday detention, too!
But I'll bet she never forgets a dress day again.

Sending {{{{HUGS}}}}} dd's way. I hope she is feeling better this afternoon. There is nothing worse for a teen than being in the "wrong clothes" so I hope you give her plenty of TLC and let her know "this too shall pass" and "in 100 years who is going to care?" and other such gems....
Personally, I'm such a pushover that I would have let her take the test starting with the rest of the class but this is a lesson that DD won't forget anytime soon. Hopefully all that studying she did made up for the missing time.
(((HUGS))) for C - sorry her day got off to such a rough start. I also hope the AP teacher could find a way to give her a break and more time on the test.
Let us know how the day ended for her!
Sue
It seems that in spite of her bumpy start this morning, the rest of DD's day went fine and she came home in pretty good spirits. Because of the liturgy, all today's classes were shortened and DD wasn't able to finish the big Euro test, but her teacher was very accommodating and let DD work on it during lunch and then finish up after school.
According to DD, there will be quite a crowd at next Saturday's detention. Apparently, she was not the only one who 'forgot' to dress today.
