Strange Behaviour!

I'm not quite sure what to make of this strange behaviour my 17yo DD has been exhibiting for the past few weeks......she's been REALLY NICE!!

Excuse me while I ramble:

She hasn't been asking to go out much.
She's happy.
She hangs around and chats with me instead of going to her room, talking on the phone,

Enjoy it while it lasts! Who knows when her hormones will start rolling the other way ...

Sounds wonderful!! Wanna trade kids for a few weeks? Maybe it's something in the air and it would have the same effect on DS17. And after 30 years of living in a home with only males, I'd welcome any DD. If things start not looking so good when the 'downer' hormones kick in, just remember: Male hormones can be just as bad, if not worse than ours.

Hmmm...perhaps she's been abducted by aliens? LOL - I agree to enjoy it while it lasts. She probably IS maturing, but most of us don't do that without a few steps back along the way :-)

My DD did that and then dropped the bomb that she was pregnant.

I'm voting for "maturing". Most of our kids *do* that eventually. Even if there are backslides, enjoy this phase while it's here!!

I'm voting for maturing too! Whatever the case is I'm glad you are enjoying your dd so much! I can't wait for those days again.

I'm with the others. Sit back & enjoy it and pray it lasts. My kids all started to show some maturity around 17 and I learned to enjoy it.

Well, it just keeps getting stranger!

Sunday, DD was very moody and gave me a hard time when I wanted to use her car for grocery shopping (she was coming with me). We drove in silence.

Monday afternoon she APOLOGIZED for being mean to me!!! She has never been one I would consider apologetic. But she recognized she wasn't being nice and said she was sorry for it.

Small miracles!

Sounds like my DD. That's how she is like and she is 18.

Not all kids get moody and uncommunicative when they are teens.
