Can anyone help with the name of one of those websites that verifies if web contests and such are real or scams?

Thanks!

Julie,

The only one I've heard of is snopes.com, not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Yep! I'm here ... not ready for bed yet and just about to read your 'can't sleep' post.

But I'm not on the computer that has my e-mail account on it. That PC is in my bedroom and my parents are here, DH is not, so I gave them my room so they would be more comfortable. I'm sleeping on the couch here in the den!

Hi Julie

Maybe you figured it out already - I love SNOPES!

You just type in a key word or two and it comes back with related info. You can't check websites, per se, you can check information or rumors - like the email I got about people carjacking in mall parking lots with fake flyers on your back window (fake).

Not quite yet ... so if I search on something and nothing comes back, does that mean that it has not been reported as a scam? So there is a possibility whatever I am searching for is legit?

Sorry for being so dense -- these brain cells seem to be wearing out.
