OK - ask me anything about the election of 1796 - anything! DD's term paper is about this momentous election, and I feel like we've been living and breathing it this month! We even canceled a family trip, so she could have all day today at home to finish the rough draft. She has a sleepover with the softball team tonight, and I said she had to finish the paper first....it's been a long day but the paper is done.
In another note - DD had a "revelation" this week that if she acts angry all the time, people are put off by that! LOL. I think she's actually a pretty even-tempered kid, but she does express all negative emotions (sad, frustrated, overwhelmed, stress) as ANGRY - remember my post last week about listening to the venting?! Anyway, she's been making an effort and seems less stressed. She says her friends notice the difference, and the one friend she's had the most conflict with has been more easy to deal with this week.
She still vents at me, of course, LOL, but much less than the past month!
Sue

Okay ... who won?
LOLOL ... glad things are easing up at home, Sue. I feel the same way about C and her AP Euro class. Come Friday at 3:00pm it will all be over ... yaay! She doesn't even have to be at school until 11:30 that morning, so she gets to sleep in and then both of the Euro classes are planning a big combined party of some sort, although that part hasn't quite been nailed down yet, and they really do deserve a party!
Last Saturday (not yesterday) DD was one of a handful of students who brought snacks for the study session and when I went to the classroom to help collect and carry out all the leftovers, she was leaning against the wall by herself and looked angry and grumpy! I thought 'wow! she must have had a really terrible time today.' When I asked her what was wrong, she said 'nothing, I'm just tired'. Anyone who might have considered approaching her would have been very hesitant to do so because her facial expression and body language said 'STAY AWAY'. I mentioned it to her and she didn't even realize she was giving off those vibes.
Because she's usually so happy and cheerful, people call her 'cheerio' so maybe I just caught her on an off moment. I hope so because I'd hate to think she looks like that all day long at school.
I'm sure L will get a good grade on her paper and I hope she had fun at the sleepover. Did she ever get to play?
