Happy Mother's Day Pam - and all of our P.O.T moms!
My big plan for tomorrow is hosting my DS7's birthday party - he'll be 8 later in the month, and tomorrow's the day for his friends to come over! We're doing a Nickelodeon theme - orange clues, green slime cake, etc.
Then DD15 offered to cook dinner for all of us! YAY!
I have no grand plans for the day, other than calling my own mom (MIL has been gone for a bout 6 years now), and hanging out with my kids. Got the best Mother's Day gift of all last night - S & C arrived from NC at about 6, they'll be here for a little over a week. Rose
I have had a wonderful weekend, celebrating 17 yrs with DH yesterday and Mothers Day today...got to sleep in until 8:30 A.M. :) I still have a 6 yr old, so thats big :) We are having dinner at our house with My parents and my sister and her kids. I'm just planning on Celebrating my three children all day :) I hope everyone has a great day.
Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! Today I am celebrating my own Mother's Day since yesterday was also DD's bday - so she had a friend over the night before and spent the morning getting ready for her bday plans with her friend and their boyfriends. While they were gone, I had to spend the day getting ready for a surprise bday/mother's day cookout with the family and then everyone didn't leave until 8:30 - so I'm tired!
DD had an amazing bday weekend, so that made me happy and that was definitely worth giving up my Mother's Day :p
Both my mom and dh's mom live very far away so a phone call was all I could share with them :(
I had a nice Mother's Day yesterday. The weather was nice & DH & I decided to go to a museum we had never been to--The inside museum was very modern, wierd art, but outdoors they have a big sculpture garden w/ about 50? sculptures in a nice wooded setting. People were there having picnics on the lawn and because Bank of America sponsored museum month, it was free too.
DS gave me a card that he made thanking me for all the things I do for him. DD gave me some books, but the best thing was the card, which said "every day I am getting more like you. Lucky me." People are always telling her she looks like me, which I don't see, and usually she cringes. lol I saw my mother (81) on Sat. night because there was a big party for her brother's 80th birthday. That was fun because I got to see my cousins who I don't see that much.
The only thing that marred the day was that when DH & I were on the way home from the museum, he said "should I call his DD and see what she's doing?" She just got her driver's license a couple of weeks ago and he left her the car. He found out that she was visiting her mother's gravesite. He was mad because he said that he had asked her on several occasions to go there w/ him and she has never wanted to go and she didn't tell him she was going. To my knowlege, they have never gone in the 5 yrs. we have been living together/married. I could see how maybe she wanted to go alone for some reason, but both of them could have handled it better. He lost any opportunity to talk about it by getting mad at her.
