Surrounded by teens!

So - this month at work I have an Intern. The local HS allows Seniors who are in good standing in all their classes to do a 4 week internship instead of the last month of classes. ((Actually kinda funny to go around town and see teens everywhere - "you on internship? yup.)) So, I got Sara. She's a great kid - smart, motivated, talented - but still a teenager. Yesterday, she spent all day with me - and at the end of the day she was tired, hungry, whiny, had a headache, and "can I go home a little early". Which would be fine, except that then I pick up a phone call from Leah, on the way home from school with a headache, tired, hungry, and whiny ("you mean you won't be picking me up from temple and I have to walk home?" - less than a mile)

I don't mind having a HS intern. I don't mind having a teenage daughter. I'm lucky that they're both pretty good kids. BUT, it doesn't seem quite fair to have *both* LOL

Teenage girl "junk" at work AND at home! At one point last night I just had to go hide in my bedroom to get a break!

LOL

LOL I know what you mean!! I love it when I'm surrounded by teens, but after awhile, I need to go hide and regroup! LOL

That sounds fun, though. Where I work will often hire 'summer hires' which are college and high school age kids of employees. It's fun to watch them grow over the years. Generally, they return for several summers. They are cute, but what you say is true...surrounded at home and work can be trying sometimes!

Good luck w/ your intern........

Funny, I was just sitting here thinking, wow, I won't have a teenager come October, dd will be 20. You see them growing up and think that they finally are becoming an adult and then.... that teen slips back in hahaha.

I am not surrounded, but I do have the b/f around all the time and I think teen boys slip back just a little more than girls!!!!

Quiet moments are the best, aren't they?

I feel for ya, When my DS's were in pre-school and early elementry I taught pre-school. I finally quit cause I couldn't handle both ;) I had no energy for my little guys when we all got home. I guess it's true what they say about teenagers being alot like toddlers *grin*
