Our corporate office is in Rochester, NY. There they have a 'women's network'. I only found out about it because I received a 'belt' at work and they put me in the women's network newsletter - here in STL we know nothing of that. Anyway, the point is they have monthly talks at lunch. I now dial in and do a live meeting with them so I can watch and listen (and kick in, if I want) to the meeting. I truly enjoy it as I'm the only female in our area (engineering) so it feels good to talk to other professional women in the company and listen to talks on various subjects.
Although it's obviously not as ideal as being somewhere in person, I do like to call in and participate. As far as your topic, I'd be interested, but it would have to be outside of working hours (7:30-5 central for me).
Another option that works is to have the online version where you write in a question so the moderator can bring it up vs. you having to speak (in case some are uncomfortable with this). Maybe have both choices; real voice/call-in to talk (vs. the kind that mute all callers) or the ability to write in your question live on a live meeting type of deal. Good luck!

For me it wouldn't work--I live a very unscheduled life. But for someone who is diligent about sticking to a schedule it may work. I could never make it to one of Pam's chats for this group--either forget about it or am just too busy. I haven't worked since April to prepare for the move, sale of home, son off to college, etc. When I begin work again, I doubt I could work it into my schedule on a regular basis. I could never remember to listen to the local radio talk shows I have an interest in, and rarely watch TV. The good thing about this board is that you can read/contribute at any time.
The idea of talking rather than typing, I like. For those who keep a daily planner and closely stick to a schedule it may work. Or those who have a particular interest in the topic your covering on a given day might remember to tune in for that day.

The other alternative is an evening call like 9PM Eastern, 6PM Pacific. And it could also be anytime on a weekend, so those are some other alternatives.

Jason, I am a cl here at iVillage.
I'd be interested in this, depending on the topic. I'd be able to participate before 3:30pm EST Monday-Friday.
If I knew ahead of time what the topics were, it would be easier to work it into my schedule.
