I've had the exact same experience this year. Between my DS' new video games, and my DD's obsession w/ IM and Facebook and shopping, I feel like I haven't had any quality time w/ my kids. I would add to that my DD's rabid social life. Our entire break has revolved around driving her to and from her various social engagements. No one else can ever make plans because she has already made some ahead of us which requires us to be somewhere w/ her at a certain time. It has taken over the family!
But even with all that, I do not look forward to getting back into the crazy school routine. I updated my calendar for the next few months, and all of our activities between January and April make my head swim.
In a warped way it feels good to hear about another video game break time addicted teen...I asked ds15 yesterday to please stop playing GHIII for a little bit to watch a movie with me (which ended up a bust; I had him watch Peggy Sue Got Married - I cried, he was bored!). He'd played for 8.5 hours and complained hey, he was on break and almost never is permitted to play during school so he deserves this time. I said fine; he still has 5 more days off; I just wanted him to take a break from it after 8.5 hours! Sheesh.

So how IS the new job-other than that little part about not rescuing you from the family at Xmas?
Glad you made the change?
I know exactly what you mean. I have had a great Christmas, even though it took me a long time to get into the mood.
I'm so sorry you're feeling frustrated!
Oh my this sounds familiar.

Hi, and ugh, I feel your frustration! You are on holiday and you're still working, in a matter of speaking. It's hard
