My daughters friends have ruined my relationship with my daughter.

I can't tell from your post what these friends are doing that you disapprove of. It's hard to give any advice without knowing that. Can you elaborate?

I see two issues here - 1) your daughter's friends and 2) how you handle your relationship with your daughter.

No good advice except to keep talking with your dd about the dangers of drinking/drugs and complimenting on the positives in her life--extracurriculars, grades, etc.

My DS18 began hanging around with a more adventurous group of guys late in his jr year of hs. I'd encourage him to call the friends I liked so he'd spend less time with these partying guys, but it never worked. These guys were popular and fun, and he enjoyed being with them, even if he knew he was doing stuff that'd get him in trouble.

Fortunately none of those guys is at the same university as DS. Now that he is in college, one of the friends I always liked has become his best friend, and they might room together next year. We can't choose their friends for them, but if we keep talking about our values, eventually they'll come around.

As I write this, I'm still a bit worried about what DS18 will be doing with his friends tonignt, New Year's Eve. We can only keep our fingers crossed.

I went through this with my dd16 when she was 13.
